Department of Associations

 The Department of Associations has the primary responsibility of working closely with the various Greek-Canadian Local Associations to ensure participation by all Member Associations in events of national, ethnic-cultural significance and historical meaning.
The Community recognizes the importance that ethno-cultural local and regional Greek Canadian based Associations play in the preservation of Greek Culture and Heritage, and through the Department of Associations ensures open communication with representatives from all regions of Greece.
The Department is governed by Administrative Council which is composed of representatives from the Member Associations and other persons appointed by the Board of Directors. |

 Greek National Independence Day Parade
This parade commemorates the anniversary of the beginning of the Greek
Revolution against the Ottoman Empire (March 25, 1821).
Annual Festival
This annual feast is held as a celebration to Canada and its significance as our adopted country.
October 28th Parade
This parade commemorates the anniversary of Italy's attack against Greece on October 28, 1940, and the resistance of the Greek people against fascism during World War II.

The Community's Board of Directors, the Department of Greek Associations, as well as all the volunteers and charitable organizations, all deserve warm congratulations for contributing to the success of all the Department's events with their unceasing efforts, hard work, enthusiasm and love for our Community.
In order to bring to completion such an arduous task, however, the involvement of many partners, businesses and supporters is necessary - these have contributed to the success of all our efforts to date, with their donations and support. We wish to extend our warmest thanks to all of them.

The Associations Department is hosting a Tea Event for the New Hellenic Cultural Centre. Tickets are $15. All proceeds will go towards the New Centre Warden and Ellesmere

The Greek Community of Toronto is holding the "NO" (OCHI) National Parade in GreekTown along Danforth Ave, on Sunday October 26th, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. "Everyone is invited to participate in the celebrations of the 68th Greek National Anniversary to honour the heroes of the 1940 Epic", said Mr. Crist Geronikolos, Vice-President of the Greek Community of Toronto. |
