The Greek Community of Toronto is a designated Greek Language Proficiency Examination Centre by the Greek Ministry of Education, Life-Long Learning and Religious Affairs (Greek Language Centre). The examinations take place every year in May.

Candidates are examined in four different levels of linguistic proficiency and are evaluated in four areas of knowledge, both written (comprehension and writing) and verbal (comprehension and speaking).

The examinations are open to everyone. Successful candidates receive an official certificate of Greek language proficiency. Participants obtain their certificates on Three Hierarchs Day.

For this year’s 2012 examinations, registration for the preparatory classes will take place from February 1st to March 21st, 2012 and the examinations will be held on May 15th and May 16th, 2012.
